BM Metals performs nickel matte washing for Vale Smelter and Nickel Refinery. Nickel Matte is revert material that is product the exits the smelting process at the Copper Cliff Smelter. BM Metals picks up this material, dry’s and thaws the material and then screens and processes it through its washing and drying system. Diligence is important in this process to ensure it has zero percent moisture and this is done through our casting oven. The material is then delivered to Vale’s Nickel Refinery to be reentered into the process. This work is vital in reducing environmental impacts from airborne material and health effects when processing material.
